About Us

Mission
LADE aims at improving the Lebanese electoral system and reinforcing the fair and democratic practice of parliamentary and municipal elections in Lebanon.

Goals
To improve the Lebanese electoral laws in compliance with international standards
To increase voter awareness and commitment to their electoral rights and duties
To monitor elections and insure its fair application based on the Lebanese regulations and laws

Structure
Executive Committee
LADE is managed by 12 executive committee members directly elected from the general assembly.

General Assembly
LADE’s general assembly counts around 200 volunteer members of concerned citizens from all over Lebanon.

Subcommittees
Electoral research committee
- Conducts research on electoral system and laws reform
- Organizes conferences, seminars, lectures related to elections
- Generates and collect literature on election systems

Training and awareness raising committee
- Trains observers and monitors on election law and monitoring techniques
- Trains citizens on civic participation and the roles of representative councils
- Orients new members to ongoing activities


Media and documentation committee
- Disseminates information related to voting rights and civic participation
- Documents and publishes LADE’s activities
- Issues a periodical covering LADE’s activities, organizes LADE’s library, and updates LADE’s website

Financial committee
- Tracks LADE’s financial accounts
- Plans LADE’s fundraising policy
- Presents proposals to funding agencies
- Organizes fundraising activities
