Feeling sick (nausea) and being sick (vomiting) can have many different causes – from medical conditions like migraine and motion sickness, to infections, injury and disease. Many different medicines can cause nausea as a side-effect when you first start taking them. Commonly used anti-sickness medicines include hyoscine, promethazine and prochlorperazine. Nausea and vomiting caused by cancer treatments or surgery are treated with a stronger medicine such as ondansetron.
