GANT was established in 1941 in New Haven, Connecticut by Bernard Gant after emigrating from Ukraine. GANT grew into a family business that strived to create styles reflecting the good life. GANT reinvented the casual and comfortable style known throughout the world as American. GANT designed garments with the notion that well dressed didn’t necessarily mean dressed up.

Dedicated to quality and attention to detail, GANT began manufacturing shirts on a subcontract basis to private labels. As the leisurely lifestyle grew in popularity, demand for GANT was almost insatiable. GANT became recognized as a trusted name on its own and expanded their production to jackets, vests, blazers and pants.

Today, GANT is distributed worldwide in 67 countries, through 220 GANT stores as well as a number of selected premium retailers. When you wear GANT, you wear true American heritage.
