What is Hooked on Hoci?
Our Hooked on Hoci packages give teachers and pupils in primary and secondary schools the support they need to promote, organise, and deliver high-quality hockey lessons. The variety of packages on offer will help your school embed a sustainable hockey programme into your existing PE and extra-curricular offer.
Now more than ever we need to ensure children stay active. Hockey Wales has designed these programmes to create more inclusive playing opportunities and provide teachers with the training they need to ensure hockey for children across Wales can be delivered in a fun and safe environment.
Leadership & Young Ambassadors
We have created a designated training programme and resource for primary and secondary schools to engage 10-18 year olds to become passionate hockey leaders, provide a pupil voice and be a positive role model to help inspire other pupils to play hockey.
Teacher
Training & Coaching
We can provide designated teacher training opportunities, mentoring from our coach developers as well as resource cards and virtual sessions to support their delivery of hockey both in PE lessons and extra-curricular clubs.
School to Club
Links
We can provide club link and transition support from your local hockey club, template resources to help you design a hockey display board and access to brand new hockey equipment to replace or replenish your existing stock in school.
Pupil
Participation
These packages will provide more playing opportunities both formally and informally in and outside of school. It will also place hockey at the heart of your PESS offer and provide positive pupil experiences from both a participation and leadership perspective.
