We are proud to promote a broad range of organisations and companies that work tirelessly for our environment and river health - work that has culminated in our very own River Summit & Festivals. Ahead of #WorldRiversDay on Sunday 22nd September, we reflect on this work, on what rivers mean to us personally, and what more we can do to support these natural, life-giving veins of our planet.

It's difficult to know where to start in thanking YETI for bringing wild magic to the fore of this year's Orvis UK Saltwater Fly Fishing Festival ✨ The YETI Night Station was epic in every way. This festival is all about community and the Night station represented exactly that and a whole lot more. The vibe there was extraordinary. It was brave, it was creative, and as long-standing partners, we could not value YETI more for bringing the essence of everything we try to achieve to life. Thank you so much Lauren Harley & YETI 📸Tom Young #BuiltForTheWild

The countdown has begun for the Orvis Saltwater Fly Fishing Festival! In just less than two months, anglers will descend onto the beaches of Hayling Island once more, fly-fishing on the salt all weekend and making lifelong friendships. With extended fishing times and other additions, this year is set to be a particularly memorable one. Have you bought your ticket yet? "Speed up, scale up, make sure it stacks up and then get on with it. That's our message to any government and we're going to continue delivering that message." These were the powerful words spoken by Natalie Prosser, CEO of The Office for Environmental Protection, on our cross-party panel discussion. As the General Election draws ever closer, read more about the discussion including around where the money is going to come from and how trust will be rebuilt on our latest blog: Lucy Young River Action UK Tim Farron Toby Perkins MP Katherine Foxhall

With the General Election set to take place on Thursday this week, hear what the politicians had to say just one day before it was announced, on 21st May. As part of a series of UK River Summit "low-downs", head to the link in our bio to read about what was discussed on our Cross-Party Panel last month, including what has gone wrong, what needs to be changed, and manifesto commitments… https://lnkd.in/e7-_2uqs

Speaking on regulators and rebuilding trust with water companies, Toby Perkins Labour MP Candidate for Chesterfield, who has served as Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs since 2023, said: 💧 “Fundamentally we need a regulator that stops self-monitoring, that stops the water companies marking their own homework, that fines them instantly if they break the law and holds them criminally liable.” 💧 #theukriversummit

Natalie Prosser CEO of the The Office for Environmental Protection (OEP) rounded off our cross-party panel this year with this impactful statement which is ringing in all of our ears: "What's most important now is that we get on and get stuff done." Let's see some results. Credit: Lucy Young

As a communications agency intensely dedicated to our cause, we are uniquely placed to independently bring together a broad black book of people, demonstrated at The UK River Summit this year: https://lnkd.in/esQRJ8p5 We pride ourselves on working with organisations who have a genuine desire and commitment to deliver environmental improvements and we make it our job to foster these relationships with care and charisma so that we can continue our trajectory of #communicationandcollaboration towards positive change.

Just one day before the UK's General Election was announced, we put leading politicians together in one room at The UK River Summit to try to understand the past, what could have been done better, and what they would like to do if they were given the opportunity to effectively run Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and be responsible for the Treasury. While no conservatives were able to attend, the parties present pledged to work together on the water crisis. Will we see this put into action? Will they prove their promises by next year's event, 8th July? It's all to be seen. After meeting the Proteus Instruments and RS Hydro team at Oceanology International this year, we were inspired by their impactful work in water quality monitoring and invited them to take part in The UK River Summit at Morden Hall on 21st May, with Hannah Gunter speaking as part of our main panel "It's Not All About Sewage." Following on from the event, Managing Director at RS Hydro Rob Stevens said "Just wanted to say how great an experience the River Summit 24 was. A really topical day full of forthright discussions, fun and engagement. The RS24 was unlike any other convention I have been to; it was full of passionate people who want to restore our rivers and bathing waters to their former glory. The summit will no doubt help us to help many of these river champions to make a difference for all of us and it was a real pleasure to be a part of that. The organisation, variety of entertainment and activities was fantastic; very much a blueprint for how this should be done. Well done Zambuni and see you next year!"
