Today marks my final day at Sport Structures. I joined the company in 2015. I have had the pleasure of working on so many diverse projects for our clients - in fact I have worked on over 50 projects in this time. I started with the company at maternity cover for the amazing Lisa West and had the evaluation of Sportivate to project manage amongst other things. Sportivate blew my mind - a whole population impact assessment - millions of data captured, analysed and reported - the reporting making a real difference to future programme delivery. I thoroughly enjoyed being in the project team evaluating the RNLI Swim Safe project - I was lucky enough to not pick the short straw and conduct field research in rainy North Wales (ha ha Jessica Beddoes (Skinner) or Cumbria, but enjoyed the soft sand and sunshine of Poole talking to young people and their families about the behaviour change created by the programme. My team will remember my phrase "Are we in Marbella?" which was used frequently on that project. I will miss the amazing people I have worked with closely Simon Kirkland, Kath Percival, Jo Pilgrim, Jobeth Hamilton, Colin G., Mark Knight, Abhishek Sudhakar, Amy Bryant, Ross Szabo, Lucy Wallbank, Richard Dando the wider team Sport Structures- and the great work we have done together over the years. With every project being different, we really did go the extra mile together. Winning the Sport England Club Matters (newly rebranded Buddle) contract in 2017 was definitely one of those fist pump team moments. A landmark project for the company and it has been amazing to see our impact over the last 6 years through the project as the learning and development supplier. I have loved exercising my strategic brain and seeing the impact of organisation change and development particularly for Boccia England and British American Football Association. Sport Structures have always let me grow in my own area of passion. With my passion being equality, diversity and inclusion in sport, I was over the moon to review the Equality Standards for Sport leading to the new https://lnkd.in/eybMERRd on behalf of the Sports Councils Equality Group Sport England, Sport Wales, Sport NI, sportscotland, and UK Sport. Moving to Inclusion is an EDI hub website and framework. The framework guides organisations on developing inclusive practice through self-reflection and continuous improvement. This programme aims to embed equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) through incorporating action planning, implementation, and review into an organisation’s everyday work. Moving to Inclusion is intended to drive meaningful change in practice, tackling inequalities, leading to sustainable improvements in the representation, diversity, and positive inclusive experiences for leaders, the wider workforce, and participants. Super proud of this and can't wait to watch from a far how it keeps developing. Now on to new adventures!

Happy Tuesday! I am wishing you a delightful start to your week. As I gear up for the next wave of Inclusion on the slopes (IOTS), I could not help but think about why I created it. The vision of Inclusion on the Slopes (IOTS) is for everyone to be open to the snow experience. My experience began with snow before skiing. For everyone to be open to it, the culture must support it (framework notated below). Inclusive Culture ==> Inclusive Hiring ==> Inclusive Marketing ==> Inclusive Consumer ==> Inclusive Snowsports & Outdoor Community. Let us explore some inclusion definitions. ---- Inclusion is the state of being included and the act of including. ---- Inclusion is diversity in action. ---- Inclusion includes all. When we know what inclusion entails, we can experience its value. Of course, individuals can self-select to exclude themselves. Yet, inclusion opens the door all the same. Enjoy your week! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionontheslopes #inclusionincludesyoutoo #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseTwoWhy

From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Monday to you! I hope you are having a reflective start to your June. We are almost halfway through the year. I can’t help but reflect on the journey as Inclusion on the Slopes celebrates its 5-year birthday. 😀 My reflection has me thinking about the generations before us and those to come as I look at my pic from the first time I went skiing five years ago which prompted me to create Inclusion on the Slopes. How will they feel on the slopes? How will the communities and towns treat them? How will organizations look? I imagine them being more inclusive by equipping, empowering, and encouraging us all to be inclusive authentically. Here is a description: ---- INCLUSION EQUIPPING: The how-to inclusion is knowing our value, meaning, and contribution by starting with strengths. ---- INCLUSION EMPOWERMENT: Empower ourselves by setting an expectation to be inclusive. ---- INCLUSION ENCOURAGEMENT: Inspiring and encouraging each other on the path forward. There is nothing like being in love with the journey! Be encouraged and enjoy! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #Happy5yrbirthday #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseOneStrengths

We're delighted to announce our Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) has been approved by UK Sport. Our DIAP consists of three distinct but importantly linked components: 🌊 #WePaddleTogether Strategy: a fundamental basis for Paddle UK's commitment to driving the golden thread of equality, diversity and inclusion throughout our core strategic priorities. 🌊 An annual action plan: outlining the specific actions the organisation will take each year to achieve the strategic actions set out in #WePaddleTogether. While a strategy can provide a helpful framework, the actions we take as individuals, teams, and leaders look different each year. 🌊 An annual impact report: detailing the delivery outcomes for each year of the strategy, allowing us to transparently report on progress and showcase the impact of delivery. You can read our full Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan for 2024 here: https://orlo.uk/sYpIK
