ACOG Menu

ACOG publications are protected by copyright and all rights are reserved. ACOG publications may not be reproduced in any form or by any means without written permission from ACOG.

Permission requests for ACOG publications (other than Obstetrics & Gynecology) should be directed to the Products and Publications Department at [email protected]. The written requests should contain the following information:

  • Precise citation of the sought document or selection number (e.g., table, box, or figure)

  • Title of the publication in which ACOG content will be reproduced and the publisher

  • Means by which the publication will be distributed (e.g., print, eBook, or online journal)

Permissions are typically granted to reproduce selections of current ACOG materials based on the following conditions:

  • Full credit to the source is shown as indicated in the permission granting letter.

  • The information must be reproduced without revision or modification.

  • Permission is given for one-time, English only use and does not extend to subsequent editions, foreign language translations, or derivative works. Rights are granted only for the purpose requested.

  • Electronic rights are granted for print publications with electronic versions (e.g., eBook or online journal) or online-only publications.

  • Permission is contingent on payment of a fee (fee information provided at the time of request).

Permissions are not granted to reproduce ACOG material in any of the following circumstances:

  • Use of all or most of a publication (i.e., an entire Patient Education Pamphlet, most of a Committee Opinion, or one chapter from a book)

  • Use of material that is not original with ACOG (the original publisher must be contacted)

  • Reproduction of a document or content from a document that has been withdrawn from circulation

Permission is not required in the following situations:

  • Small selections of text (approximately 100 words) are being excerpted (with appropriate attribution to ACOG)

  • A descriptive article is being written about a document (i.e., press release).

Permission requests for selections from articles in Obstetrics & Gynecology should be directed to Wolters Kluwer, the publisher of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Wolters Kluwer has partnered with the Copyright Clearance Center’s RightsLink service to offer a fast and easy way to secure permission for content published in Obstetrics & Gynecology.* Article-specific RightsLink information can be accessed directly from articles on the journal website by following these steps:

  • Navigate to the article on www.greenjournal.org

  • Under “Article Tools,” click on “Get Content & Permissions”
