Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) reposted this
A few weeks ago, I ran into some students in the break room. I asked them what program they were in, and they said welding. I asked if anyone would like to challenge me in a welding competition. All the males at the table pointed at the female at the table and said, “She will!” She confidently accepted, which gave me a little anxiety after her confident acceptance. Well, today was the day, and another gentleman confidently accepted the challenge this morning. It turns out my anxiety was correct because they both beat me in the competition. But I’m totally okay with the defeat because I know technical education has changed my life, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help others find purpose in life-changing opportunities! #TechnicalEducation #welding #femalewelders
