Meet Shehani Leo from Unilever Sri Lanka, sharing her #ThenAndNow story. Shehani started her journey with Unilever as a Management Trainee for Marketing in June 2021 where she worked on some exciting projects gaining valuable experience with iconic brands such as Lux and Pears in the Skin Cleansing category. She then went on to do a short stint in sales in Distributive Trade which allowed her to study and understand the market as well as its consumers. Today, as the Brand Manager for Pears, Shehani’s journey highlights the growth opportunities and diverse experiences you can have here, at Unilever. Yesterday, we announced our results for the first quarter of 2024. Underlying sales growth was up 4.4%, with volume growth increasing to 2.2%. Ambitious climate action is a priority for Unilever, so we’re proud that Science Based Targets initiative has approved our new near-term science-based emissions reduction targets. These are to: • Reduce absolute Scope 3 energy and industrial GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2021 baseline • Reduce absolute Scope 3 forest, land and agriculture (FLAG) GHG emissions by 30.3% by 2030 from a 2021 baseline These more stretching, updated targets for our value chain are an important part of our updated Climate Transition Action Plan, guiding our actions to 2030.
