Today, we witness massive talent shortages across industries, with 75% of US employers reporting difficulty finding the talent they needed in 2023 (a 17-year high!). And 600,000 people released from prison annually who experience exorbitant unemployment rates. The solution: fair-chance hiring. Daniel Yanisse has seen it up close: "Time and again, we see the fair-chance talent we’ve welcomed to Checkr become highly engaged, ambitious, and successful employees." Here's why it works: https://on.bcg.com/49sbZ06 cc Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

“As we kick off National Fair Chance Month, I'm hopeful about our collective ability to think critically about the state of the economy as it looms over one of the most critical civil right issues of our time: the 27% unemployment rate employment for the millions of Americans living with an arrest record - the largest source of untapped talent in this country. By excluding justice-impacted individuals from jobs, we limit the diversity and dynamism of our workforce. As we navigate the future of work and address labor challenges, it's crucial for businesses to recognize the value of tapping into this often-overlooked talent pool. Fair chance hiring practices can help provide companies with untapped talent, spur innovation, reduce the recidivism rate, and strengthen communities and the economy. To this end, we here at Checkr continue to build products that unblock millions of job applicants who may not otherwise have gained access to employment based on information reported on their background checks. And through our partners and customers we’ve verified job placements for more than 3,300 justice-impacted individuals, sponsored over 1,000 record expungements, guided dozens of companies through adoption of fair chance hiring policies, and ourselves hired more justice-impacted employees than any other tech company in the country. And we’re just getting started.” Ken O., VP of Corporate Social Responsibility at Checkr —- Throughout Fair Chance Month, Ken will be sharing insights, stories, and perspectives from the fair chance movement, as well as offering actionable steps for policymakers and business leaders to drive progress forward. Stay tuned for more! #FairChanceMonth #SecondChances #FutureOfWork
