🚨 A Cautionary Tale: My Ongoing Struggle with Klarna’s Service 🚨 I don’t normally use LinkedIn for this type of post, however my experience with Klarna UK has been so poor I can’t help but share in the hope that my recent experience with Klarna UK, can serve as a cautionary tale for others considering their services. A month ago, I made a purchase using Klarna, only to return it shortly after. The merchant confirmed the refund, but Klarna UK has yet to process the amount owed to me. This isn’t just about the money; it’s about the principle and the frustration of navigating a seemingly unresponsive customer service system. Here’s where things stand: • Refund Limbo: Despite the merchant’s and Klarna UK’s confirmation, my refund is yet to appear in my account. • Silence from Klarna: My repeated attempts to resolve this through their app, chat, and email have been met with silence. The lack of response is disheartening. (Don’t even try phoning unless you have a spare 4 hours to hold). • Invisible Transaction: I can no longer view the transaction in the Klarna app, adding to the confusion and lack of transparency. (Luckily I took screenshots). I’m sharing this because I believe it’s essential to highlight both good and bad service experiences. As we approach the holiday season, a time when many of us rely on such services, I hope my story can serve as a reminder to companies like Klarna UK the importance of effective customer service and clear communication. To my network: Have you had similar experiences? How did you navigate them? I’m open to suggestions and would love to hear your thoughts. #CustomerService #Klarna #ConsumerRights #ServiceFail

Although I would be lying if I didn't say I am thrilled to see who is in the #1 spot, what I feel is more relevant to be talking about is how Klarna is SO MUCH MORE than BNPL. Did you know that our Pay Now product, which allows customers to pay directly from their bank account makes up 34% of our transactions?? From paying for your everyday items to those larger purchases where you may need more time to pay, we have our customers needs covered. Pay Now...or Pay Later, with Klarna:) #PayNow #paylater #commerce #Klarna #BNPL

Limited Payment Options builds more trust on the cart page. Not accepting customers' preferred payment methods like PayPal, Apple Pay, or local digital wallets can lead to checkout abandonment. Even if you offer credit cards, limiting options to only Visa and Mastercard causes issues. Customers want the flexibility to pay how they choose. The more payment methods you support, the less checkout friction. Integrating solutions like PayPal, Apple Pay, and direct bank transfers removes a major blocker. Strive to support at least 3-4 common payment options inclusive of credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc. For global checkout, alternative payments like iDEAL, Giropay, or Alipay are key for some markets. Local options build trust. Optimization tip: Place your preferred payment method first in the checkout flow if possible. But always offer alternative options in case the customer doesn't want to use that one. Removing payment friction by offering flexibility boosts conversion rates. Support the options your customers actually want to pay with. . . #dtc #dtcbrands #conversionrateoptimization #cro #cartpage #websiteoptimization

Is your website check out fast and simple? A complicated checkout process is almost guaranteed to lead to a high rate of cart abandonment. And it’s likely you will lose the customer for good, as once they have had a negative experience it’s exceptionally hard to entice them to return. So how can you simplify the checkout process? ✔️ Allow users to check out as a guest – many people either don’t have the time to create an account or don’t want to give out loads of information to make a purchase. ✔️ Clearly state your payment options – whether you accept credit card, PayPal, bank transfer or any other payment methods, be clear from the start. ✔️ Consider buy now, pay later platforms such as Afterpay and Klarna – knowing that they can make a purchase today and pay it off in the coming weeks or months is a perfect way to encourage shoppers to buy now. https://lnkd.in/gkRp5-98

Merchants complaining about AfterPay fees are looking at this the wrong pay. AfterPay is one of the best thing that happened to merchants. It opens brands to a new demography. (Mostly Gen Z) Allow the customer to pay a fraction today while the merchant get the full amount. AfterPay has even become a social proof. Some customer segment are even saying if AfterPay logo is not on a website, they don't trust the brand. Let's look at the other payment method like Visa, Mastercard or PayPal, are they a distribution channel? No. After has a free distribution channel through their app and website for brands. For me, that's a no brainer. The biggest challenge for any product is distribution, so why would you think twice about AfterPay. Let's be real, if AfterPay 2-6% fees is an issue for the brand, then you don't have a fee problem, you have a profit margin problem. PS: I am not affiliated with AfterPay, just talking from experience. #BNPL #ecommerce #marketing #shopify #shopifyplus
