In 1978, Microsoft chose Tokyo as the home for its first international office. This marked the beginning of a long-term commitment to innovation and growth with the people and Government of Japan. Today, alongside Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, we proudly announced that Microsoft will invest $2.9 billion over the next two years to increase our hyperscale cloud computing and AI infrastructure in Japan. This investment goes beyond AI infrastructure; it’s a commitment to the people and Government of Japan, including providing AI skilling to 3 million Japanese in the next three years, opening a Microsoft Research Asia lab in Tokyo, and deepening our cybersecurity collaboration with the Japanese Government.

I am excited to share we have signed an 8-year strategic partnership with Cloud Software Group (CSG) to bring joint cloud solutions and generative AI capabilities to more than 100 million people. Additionally, we will work with its business unit Citrix to enhance the customer experience with integrated solutions built on Microsoft Azure as its preferred cloud platform, coupled with go-to market support. Citrix will rollout GitHub Copilot to all its engineers to increase developer productivity by over 20%, and Microsoft 365 to all its employees to empower them with best-in-class productivity and AI tools.
