Development Director, Bay Area Region

Salary Range: $135,000-$155,000
The Development Director, Bay Area Region serves as the lead strategist, manager, and frontline fundraiser for Common Sense’s major gift individual and event fundraising effort (gifts of $5,000-$100,000+) in the Bay Area. The Development Director manages and builds the Bay Area/Silicon Valley Regional Advisory Councils and oversees both cultivation and fundraising events across the region. Working closely with the VP of Development, Individual Giving, the Regional Advisory Councils, and the CEO’s office, this position is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding existing and new donor relationships, with a focus on raising five and six-figure gifts.

Editorial Program Manager, Digital Platforms (Education, AI, Privacy)
San Francisco/ Hybrid
Reports to: Editor in Chief, Head of Distribution
Salary Range: $140,000-$166,000
The Editorial Program Manager leads the development and execution of reviews and evaluation rubrics for AI, edtech, privacy, and digital media (apps, social media, TikTok, YouTube). They will lead the content and coverage strategy in a fast-evolving space. This role will manage a team of writers, collaborate across the organization with key stakeholders, and be responsible for the development and execution of the written review products.
Flutter Developer
San Francisco Bay Area
Reports to: Engineering & DevOps Manager
Salary Range: $140,000-$166,000, FULL-TIME, EXEMPT
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Flutter Developer to focus on enhancing and maintaining our existing Common Sense Media mobile iOS and Android app. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in mobile app development, with a specific focus on the Flutter framework. This role involves diving into our current app’s codebase, understanding its structure, and implementing improvements and updates to enhance the user experience and performance. Typical projects will include integration with third-party libraries and services, in-app payments, cloud messaging and push notifications, personalization features, and various other user experiences.
Senior Manager, People Operations & HR
San Francisco, CA (onsite hybrid)

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
The Senior Manager will help lead the day-to-day functioning of our HR & People Operations team along with the Senior Director of People Operations & HR. They will assist in providing guidance and direction to management and staff on key employee life-cycle junctures, including recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and success. This position requires discretion and a high degree of confidentiality, as well as a strong commitment to continual improvement and the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Workplace Experience Coordinator

Reports to: Workplace and People Operations Manager
Salary Range: $25 - $28 per hour
The Workplace Experience Coordinator plays a key role as the first point of contact for Common Sense. The Workplace Experience Coordinator ensures that the front desk welcomes guests and staff warmly and positively, and executes all administrative tasks effectively, professionally, and efficiently.

Common Sense is a nonprofit organization giving kids, families, and schools the tools to make informed choices about media and technology. Families know us for our independent, age-based reviews of movies, TV shows, books, games, podcasts and apps. Educators use our free curriculum and edtech reviews to plan lessons and integrate technology into their teaching practice. At our core, we are a children's advocacy group. We draw on original research, industry expertise, and community partnerships to advocate for laws and policies that help kids thrive.
