"The benefits and unique attributes that neurodiverse people bring to the workforce prove no different," said Margareta Mucibabici (Chesaru), Public Affairs & Social Impact Director at UiPath to Forbes. "Therefore, companies that strive to foster an inclusive workplace should consider the opportunity to create new employment opportunities for autistic individuals and help reduce the employment gap (currently estimated at over 80%). "By identifying roles that require significant visual focus and execution of routine tasks – skills at which autistic people naturally excel and enjoy – companies can increase their talent pool in addition to seeing enhancements in productivity, service quality, innovative capabilities, and employee engagement.” April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day. Data shows that tech professionals are eager to learn AI skills on the job, but over half of employer-led training programs are falling short of meeting their needs. In fact, only 64% of workers think they’re receiving the training they need, and 57% find their training to be inadequate according to a new report from Oliver Wyman. With generative AI projected to impact 96% of the key skills and competencies that software engineers and other specialists will need in the future, tech professionals have no choice but to teach themselves how to use and work with AI. The question is how to move forward. Here are three ways to build AI skills through self-directed learning both inside and outside the workplace: https://lnkd.in/gMSRAvRS #AIinTech #AITraining #AIinWorkplace

There is a clear retention issue for women in tech. The following gaps make this clear: ▫️ People who identify as men are more likely to hold full-time positions: 86% of men reported being in a full-time role compared to 80% of respondents who identify as women. ▫️ Men are more likely to be in their current role for longer: 31% of men have been in their role for over 5 years vs. 22% of women. ▫️ Men are more likely to be in the industry for longer and report spending over five years in tech: 80% of men vs. 66% of women. If you are a woman building a tech career, stay diligent about advocating for yourself and maintaining a clear sense of your own value. The tech industry is full of opportunity, but it loses ground every time a talented woman chooses to leave. Companies that prioritize pay equity analysis, mentorship programs, and leadership training are going to have a significant leg up when it comes to attracting talented women in tech. #WomenInTech #GenderGap #WomenInSTEM
