If you had told me years ago, while I was completing my double degrees in business marketing and law, that I'd one day be at the forefront of digital safety, I would've chuckled in disbelief. But as the paths of law and marketing intertwined, revealing a unique crossroad between portraying oneself authentically online and understanding the bounds of what’s permissible, my journey led me to the realm of trust and safety. I've shared a video (where I'm featured 😊) diving deeper into my 'north star' - to empower our youth to harness technology, all the while fostering an environment where they feel safe expressing themselves authentically, without the weight of trends or societal pressures. Being at TikTok, I've found not just a job, but a calling. Every day, I'm surrounded by diverse perspectives, leading to richer solutions. It's heartwarming to be a part of a community that's always curious, supportive, and innovative. I feel hugely empowered and motivated to work for an organisation that insists on the highest of standards and addressing the root causes of issues, rather than encouraging quick-fixes. In fact, I was nominated and consequently won a company culture award for "Being Courageous and Aiming for the Highest" within my first three months at the company, and I feel proud to work for a company that recognises effort regardless of tenure.
