Physicist Madam (Marie) Curie, a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner whose research in radium and radiation paved the way into developing cancer treatments;
Technology enthusiast Hedwig Kiesler, aka actress Heddy Lamarr, whose work with the U.S. Navy during World War II developed a way for wireless communication, which she patented in 1941. Her work is the foundation for our modern day internet, GPS and Bluetooth. Yes, it was women who developed it;
Aviator Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932. She inspired women to enter the aviation field. Now less than 100 Years later, there are over 100 women jet fighter pilots in our military.
