OPINION: I had the good fortune to spend some time with Amber Manfree yesterday. I had already decided to vote for her but came away even more convinced she is the supervisor we need. Amber understands the science behind climate change and natural resource management.

OPINION: I urge Napa Valley residents who reside in Napa County's 4th supervisorial District to vote for Amber Manfree. In my opinion, she is by far the best choice because she is the most capable of responding to the rapidly evolving changes to our natural environment as well as addressing the many issues associated with a livable future in Napa County.

OPINION: Perhaps the most important local election is for the Board of Supervisors. Your choices come down to a businessman who is endorsed by the Napa County Farm Bureau, which has recently been subpoenaed by the Department of Justice regarding their Political Action Committee. That PAC spent $9,800 in support of candidate Peter Mott.

OPINION: Voting for real sustainable Napa County outcomes with local, resident-focused, deep-knowledge in the District 4 supervisor election. Amber Manfree, is the choice for decision-making based upon extensive scientific knowledge, commitment to actually researching community issues, reflective thought, critical thinking, extensive life experience, and revealing and speaking factual truths to power.

The NCOE board should determine what conditions its staff has laid out that are vital to Mayacamas’ success – the ones that can be logically done now – and demand its petitioners fix them by its next meeting. If they can't do it, reject it.

As Executive Editor Dan Evans writes about the letters-to-the-editor campaign candidate Amber Manfree was been waging as well as the impact of the Farm Bureau's PAC support of its preferred candidates — in light of the federal subpoena the group received.

OPINION: With the impending primary on March 5th, a primary that will decide who will represent Napans at the county level, political campaign signs are rampant throughout our community.
