We're thrilled to announce that eight exceptional projects have been shortlisted for the 2024 'Best Use of Natural Light Prize,' at the World Architecture Festival, supported by VELUX. This prestigious prize, established in 2019, celebrates completed buildings that showcase unique use of daylighting. Among the eight shortlisted projects, you’ll find groundbreaking designs from world-renowned architect studios, ranging from an aqua park nestled in a UNESCO World Heritage site, to cutting-edge educational and healthcare facilities, and a stunning private residence that seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings. 📣 We are excited to share that VELUX and HusCompagniet A/S have entered a partnership to push for more sustainable construction. At VELUX, we have prototyped the Living Places concept in Copenhagen, showing and sharing how to build with an ultra-low carbon footprint and healthy indoor climate designed for scalability. The partner agreement builds on the learnings, knowledge and experiences from the Living Places project and aims to accelerate positive changes across the building industry for both people and planet. We look forward to partnering with HusCompagniet and following their work with the concept in the future. Read more about the partnership - link in the comments

A home filled with daylight ☀️ The de Silva family have designed their home from scratch in close collaboration with designers and architects. It’s a true testament to the power of thoughtful design and how the integration of natural elements (and VELUX roof windows 😉) can transform a ‘room’ into a sanctuary where the family can work, cook, and play.

For the second year in a row, we got a GOLD medal from EcoVadis, the global leader in sustainability business rankings 🥇 We’re proud because we were awarded 78 points this year, positioning VELUX among the top 3% of all companies worldwide for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.   Although we can always do better, and next year we aim for Platinum, it still feels good to be ranked among the top 130,000 companies evaluated.
