(Re) insurance headhunter with a background in economics

I'm excited to announce that I will be speaking at the General Insurance Spring Conference 2024, organized by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. 📅 Date: Friday, 3rd May 2024 | Time: 09:30 - 10:30 GMT (online only) The organising committee have asked me to combine a couple of my previous proposals into one talk. My presentation, titled "Aspiration versus Achievement – Board Diversity Statements and Gender Pay Disparities in the UK Insurance Sector," will aim to offer a factual assessment of the implications of government mandates on gender pay gap reporting and board diversity policies within the #UK #insurance industry. The first half of the presentation will critically examine the gender pay gap data for c 130 UK insurance entities since requirements were introduced in 2017. The second half of the presentation will examine the precise wording of board diversity statements to understand what companies actually ask for as well as what they get. I will be looking in particular at any stated use of "tie-breakers" to determine promotion/hiring decisions. The session aims to present an objective analysis of outcomes, using both publicly available data and insights from freedom of information requests from the PRA. The event is free for members of the IFOA and CPD points can also be claimed. #UKInsuranceSector #GenderPayGap #BoardDiversity #GISpring24
