Zootopia 2, also known as Zootropolis 2 or Zoomania 2 in various regions, is an upcoming American animated buddy cop action comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Zootopia 2 is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on November 26, 2025. The sequel would be released roughly 9 years since the original Zootopia film.

In June 2016, Howard and Moore were in talks about the possibility of a Zootopia sequel.[1][2][3][4][5] On February 8, 2023, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that a sequel to Zootopia was in the works during the Disney 2023 Q1 investors call.[6] Later that day, screenwriter and co-director Jared Bush confirmed that he is working on the film as director and writer, while Josie Trinidad, who had conceived the story for the first film, was confirmed as the sequel's co-director, making it her feature directorial debut.[7][8] Ginnifer Goodwin, who voices Judy, told CinemaBlend that she would like to see a role reversal between Judy and Nick in the sequel. “I would like to see Nick have to be the one to convince Judy that the world is worth fighting for,” she said. Jason Bateman, who voices Nick, also told CinemaBlend about his idea for the sequel. “The two of us [Nick and Judy] kicking ass out there. Cleaning up the streets. We’re a couple of new cops out there. So, bad guys, be warned,” he said.[9] On February 7, 2024, Iger revealed during the Disney 2024 Q1 investors call that the sequel will officially be called Zootopia 2, and will release on November 26, 2025.[10] On April 15, 2024 Ginnifer Goodwin revealed on her instagram that she would be reprising her role in the sequel and was working on voice recordings.
