In the meantime, some highlights. 📰 Topline: “We want to know what are the rules for us to play the game because we know we'll do well!” 📣 What we're doing at EWA: “One of the things we’re working on is to help the European Commission develop a methodology for quantifying the carbon capture rate of EWR,” said Adam Wolf. “They want to know the science of the carbon capture for this to be a like-for-like substitution for fossil emissions over hundreds or thousands of years.” EWA is now drafting a technical report for the Commission, “so they have all the evidence they need when they decide to pick up the file”. ⏱ What we are after: “What is really hurting the industry is that there is no timeline for when these other methodologies are going to be developed,” said Sebastian Manhart. “Even if it's later, there should be some sort of timeline that we can plan with and hold the Commission accountable to.” 👩🌾 Why we are passionate advocates for ERW: “ERW easily has the potential to double profit for farmers – whether it’s through a direct payment, a cost subsidy, or a price premium” said Wolf Want to know more? 📣 This is a call to action. We need your help! As you might have followed, the Carbon Removal Certification Framework (#CRCF) - potentially the most important piece of #CDR legislation in the world right now - has entered its final negotiation stage, the #Trilogues. 🛠️ There are still several aspects of the current positions which would prevent a portfolio approach and #techneutrality, de facto excluding a large amount of CDR technologies and reducing the EU´s chances to reach net-zero. 🔊 For this reason, we need to put our argument in front of policy makers now - louder than ever. 💪 77 companies - including Everest Carbon - have already signed a public letter calling for tech-openness in the CRCF. Our goal is to get 100 companies to sign on before the end of the week to put it on CRCF negotiators´ desks on Monday. 🌎 Any organisation or company working in or on CDR can sign the letter. You don´t have to be European either. This is a global call to action to ensure a cornerstone legislation remains tech-neutral. 🤝 Action now can have an outsized impact.
