Congratulations to Wen-GAP and Carlisle for being recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Challenge after meeting their energy and water reduction targets for the year. Both franchisees also actively participate in the Wendy’s Energy Challenge, which was modeled after the Better Buildings program, and helps franchisees identify cost saving opportunities by employing energy efficient practices in their restaurants. Congrats grads! We recently celebrated the graduation of our third cohort from WeLEAD: a leadership program that emphasizes Wendy’s “people first” approach to business so that participants graduate ready to make a difference. During the last six months, WeLEAD participants completed a set of core learning experiences, including in-restaurant training and a 360 feedback exercise, and presented a final group project that focused on what they learned during the program and how they’ll apply it to their role with the brand. And throughout the program, they also received coaching and support from a dedicated group of Wendy’s leaders who served as program sponsors. We can’t wait to see what this group will accomplish next!
