We are thrilled to announce that Chemonics has been awarded the 10-year USAID Next Generation Global Health Supply Chain Comprehensive Technical Assistance (CompTA) IDIQ! We are pleased to have the opportunity to build on our achievements over the past eight years supporting locally-led supply chain and pharmaceutical management systems in more than 40 countries under the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management project and the USAID Global Health Supply Chain – Technical Assistance Francophone Task Order. We look forward to working in partnership with USAID, host country governments, and other stakeholders to transform in-country supply chains and ensure sustainable access to quality-assured, affordable #health commodities. #SupplyChain #LocallyLedDevelopment #DevelopmentWorksHere

As we officially begin a new year, it is critical that development professionals around the world reaffirm our commitment to supporting sustainable, locally led development. These efforts must center the voices of local leaders who are trusted community members and experts in their field, which is why we’re thrilled to release a report that captures the perspectives of local changemakers and highlights recommendations for supporting #SustainableDevelopment efforts in fragile and conflict-affected states. In October of 2023, we were proud to bring together #LocalLeaders, donors, and implementing partners representing 22 countries, 40 organizations, and 24 projects for “Meeting the Moment: Local Changemakers Lead in Fragile and Conflict-Affected States.” The historic summit created a platform for local partners to share how donors and implementers can most effectively support #LocallyLedDevelopment and peacebuilding efforts, inspiring and driving the content of this report. Locally led development is a choice that is made at every step of the project lifecycle. As one summit participant noted, “the right policies require the right changemakers in the government, in the communities, and in the market systems. It’s all about the people.” Explore the full report and see how you can meet the moment: https://ow.ly/Ogtk50QoZaU

Chemonics International reposted this
Back in 2018, Chemonics heard about a new global #innovation program – UNLEASH – and sent several Talents to the UNLEASH Innovation Lab in Singapore. Those of us who went walked away inspired and transformed. From that experience, Chemonics International knew there was an incredible opportunity to partner on a bigger scale and share our implementation knowledge through UNLEASH programs. In 2019, we joined UNLEASH as the Lead Scale Partner and helped design and launch the UNLEASH Plus Incubator, a six-month program that supports innovators from around the world with launching and scaling social impact ventures. Fast forward to last week in Kigali, where 1,000 next-generation change makers from 136 countries gathered to ideate solutions to advance the Sustainable Development Goals at the #UNLEASHRwanda Innovation Lab. During the Lab, the top 25 UNLEASH Plus Teams also spent an intensive final week refining their business models alongside incredible Experts and Mentors. At the final pitch competition, the top 10 teams had an opportunity to pitch their early-stage ventures to a panel of industry leaders for a chance to win awards and funding. Each year I am humbled by the brilliance, determination, and resilience of our Plus teams, who come from every walk of life to the pitching stage. I’m proud that, through our partnership, Chemonics serves as a launching point so that every creative mind and passionate innovator has the chance to be supported along their path to impact. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to NATAL CARES, the Chemonics-awarded Plus team that is fighting maternal and infant mortality across Nigeria and the African continent with incredible success. I’m also so excited to work with Team Texcyclo, Chemonics’ awardee from the Lab that conceptualized a scalable, circular solution to minimize reliance on fossil fuels in Kenya. I know that it is the drive of these kinds of empathetic leaders, with lived experience of the issues we all face, who will change the world for the better. I also want to extend my deep gratitude and profound admiration to the UNLEASH Secretariat for delivering yet another successful Lab. This event is a logistical and programmatic feat so unimaginably complex that it requires infinite patience, grit, and absolute belief in the power of the community we create in order to pull it off year after year! The #COVID19 pandemic presented several challenges for low- and middle-income countries globally. And, as countries recover from the pandemic, we can take lessons learned from the past few years and apply them to prepare for future crises and strengthen other health areas. This is one lesson shared by Emerald Norman, Vaccine Logistics Officer for the Chemonics International-led USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project in #Angola, who, along with other #SupplyChain experts, shares some fantastic insights in this GHSC-PSM story: https://ow.ly/NObv50PSr0W #WeDeliverHealth #DevelopmentWorksHere

On this #InternationalMigrantsDay, we would like to recognize the work of our USAID-funded Promoviendo la Rendición de Cuentas por los Derechos Humanos (RED-DH) Activity, which supports the search and identification of missing migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border. RED-DH Deputy Chief of Party Patricio Toussaint shares more about their approach in the video below.
