Open avenues for publishers and content creators

Our teams empower aspiring writers to publish their work on a global scale.

Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) is Amazon’s digital, international self-service platform that allows content creators to publish their work across the Kindle ecosystem. It’s free, fast, and easy, and authors earn up to 70 percent in royalties. This team has disrupted the publishing industry, enabling self-service publishing for independent authors and publishers of all sizes. About one-third of the top U.S. 100 Kindle books each week are published through KDP. We look for software engineers to bring the KDP experience to life, as well as savvy program and product managers to expand the business.

Amazon Publishing is the full-service publishing arm of Amazon, bringing outstanding new books to a global audience. We support authors with editorial collaboration, cover design, marketing and PR support, fast and efficient production, and access to a global marketplace of readers — along with services that authors might not expect. Our open positions range from program management and marketing to software development engineering that enhances the publishing process on the back-end.

Part of the Amazon Publishing family, Brilliance Publishing is the full-service publisher for the Waterfall Press and Grand Harbor Press imprints, as well as one of the largest audiobook publishers, Brilliance Audio. Headquartered in Grand Haven, Michigan, Brilliance Publishing offers dynamic positions that directly impact content creation and book development across several formats: e-books, digital audiobooks, print and physical audiobooks. Open positions might include editorial acquisition, content development, creative services (e.g. audio engineer, graphic/digital design) to office roles in information technology, sales, marketing, and more.

Is acquiring great content your focus? The content acquisition group focuses on four categories: 1) Driving costs down through negotiations and business strategy; 2) Acquiring print content and making it available in e-book format; 3) Acquiring content for strategic programs like Kindle Unlimited; and 4) Global pricing and terms negotiations. As the Kindle business has grown more mature, the team is focusing on scaling and automating while also working effectively with publishers. Successful team members can dive deep to make data-driven decisions, work with ambiguity, and have strong negotiation skills. If you have a passion for working on an important mission – expanding the life of a book and creating access to books for everyone – come and join the team!

On the technical side, our Kindle Publisher Tools Reader team provides technology to allow authors to create, preview, and publish content in a range of formats, from textbooks to manga, for free. The team seeks expertise in web development, iOS, Android, and browser development.
