i want to show you what it looks like when i get submissions that are written on someone's phone and there is no formatting or attention paid to grammar or anything else. there are no spaces commas capital letters or punctuation. it's just a wall of text and i get at least one message a day like this so you should take the time to write a well-tought introduction for a job submission. when i get submissions like this it goes without saying they are deleted immediately. be strategic with your submissions and instead of blasted dozens or hundreds of resumes everywhere, slow down and make fewer submissions that are better quality because "less is more."

Honestly, it's a turn-off for me as a recruiter. -- Would you go to a dentist who is also a house painter? -- Would you hire an architect who also wants to be your cook? -- Would you hire a corporate lawyer with a personal training side hustle? Know what you are, who you are, and what you're great at -- and sell that! 𝐓𝐈𝐏 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘: Busy recruiters easily get 100 to 200 emails a day, so it's important to be concise when you send a query about representation. About once a week, I open an email with 1,000 or more words, and the person wrote their whole life story -- literally. Cover letters for job submissions shouldn't be more than 350 words. Query emails should be 100 to 200 words, with a VERY STRONG opening sentence to get the agent's attention.
