YCCA also convenes community partners and fosters connections among organizations in order to increase countywide collaboration. These efforts are aimed at empowering Yolo County families to be healthy and strong and offering children the best chance of thriving and growing.
Child Abuse Prevention Council
Yolo County Children’s Alliance (YCCA) is the lead for the Yolo County Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC). Child Abuse Prevention Councils (CAPCs) of California are community councils whose primary purpose is to coordinate the community’s efforts to prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect.
Yolo Family Strengthening Network
The Yolo Family Strengthening Network (YFSN) is a group of Yolo County family-serving organizations and agencies dedicated to strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect.
Yolo Community Health Initiative (YCHI) & Health Insurance Coordinating Committee (HICC)
The goal of the Yolo County Community Health Initiative (YCHI) is to provide access for Yolo County residents to health insurance and quality, affordable health care services, including mental health services, dental health services, vision services and prescription services. Since 2005, YCCA has accepted primary responsibility for securing funding, staff resources, and political/community support for the YCHI. This initiative is a county-wide, inter-agency partnership aimed at reducing the number of uninsured individuals living in Yolo County.
Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act Youth Employment Program
Are you a Yolo County resident between the ages of 17 to 24 and not currently attending school? Did you drop out or have been through the justice system? Are you homeless, currently in foster care, disabled, parenting a child, or pregnant? Get help with your long term career goals and get paid while gaining valuable work experience! Yolo County Children’s Alliance seeks teenagers and young adults to join our Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act Youth Employment program. Our program coordinator can match you with an employer who will work to develop a training plan based on your needs.
