What is the Alternative Payment Program?
The Alternative Payment Program provides subsidies to pay for child care in a location of the parent’s choice while the parent or parents are working, in training, or seeking employment. These programs, administered by the California Department of Education and the California Department of Social Services, are state and federally funded. Coordination is handled by the State of California.
