Spotlight – So Shifts The Sector
A facilitated online conversation for, with, and about the Black/African American experience in the tech sector.
Together, we will decipher and name the occurrence of white supremacy and patriarchy and employ life strategies that can clarify where these constructs exist.
Through this journey, we will procure tools that help us solidify and center our individual autonomy in the face of micro and macro aggressions in the workplace (such as white fragility, resistance, reactivity, and general sensitivity).
SSTS is a data project about the Black experience in the tech sector and will inform our growth through 2025.

Code2040 is a nonprofit activating, connecting, and mobilizing the largest racial equity community in tech to dismantle the structural barriers that prevent the full participation and leadership of Black and Latinx technologists in the innovation economy. Through events, trainings, early-career programs, and knowledge sharing, Code2040 equips Black and Latinx technologists and their allies with the tools, connections, and care they need to advocate for and achieve racial equity in the tech industry.
