On June 12, 2023, at the conclusion of the 2023 NATO summit, U.S. president Joe Biden delivered a speech to a crowd of diplomats and allied heads of state at Vilnius University in Vilnius, Lithuania. The summit saw the invitation of Sweden to join the alliance, as well as the unified support of Ukraine in the war with Russia and that Ukraine "belongs" in Ukraine. The speech touched on themes of unity between liberal democracies in the face of Russian aggression. The speech also touched on dangers of climate change as well as an age of global competition.[1][2][3][4]
