Colleen will share from her experience helping to keep our team culture steady and healthy for over a decade now at CoLab Cooperative! ❤️ Regarding the event, the Platform Cooperativism Consortium says: "We will delve deep into how these tech cooperatives started, how they operate, how they achieve financial sustainability, and their visions for a digital cooperative future. We will learn the behind-the-scenes of these co-ops and get a rare opportunity to not only hear them in conversation from three different countries, but also participate ourselves in an intimate discussion with them. We recommend bringing your curiosity and questions! This is a special session of Founders Unplugged—open to the public. Organized by the Institute for Cooperative Digital Economy (ICDE), the Platform Cooperativism Consortium (PCC). 🚀 Apollo Stories has Launched! 🚀 An initiative born out of the legendary Apollo Theater in New York, Apollo Stories is an interactive digital learning hub that aims to connect students and educators across the country with the programs and legacy of the famed Apollo, providing lesson plans, resources and activities that explore themes of social justice, cultural exchange, identity and more. The inaugural lessons are built around The Apollo’s world premiere stage adaptation of Ta Nehisi-Coates’ Between the World and Me. Geared towards activating and amplifying the voices of high school-aged students, the program reflects The Apollo’s commitment to utilizing the arts and humanities to foster conversation centered in the Black experience—all while creating an expansive and generative community for teaching, learning, creativity, self-expression, and for giving young people a framework to understand and navigate issues of contemporary America. We partnered with their fantastic team to design and build the platform using WordPress and LearnDash, resulting in a powerful tool out of the gate and the flexibility to grow based on the needs of its community.

Spotlight: CoLab Supports Common Cause's Election Protection Program During the election cycle last fall, we launched a custom-built web app for Common Cause to manage their volunteer poll watching signups. Common Cause runs one of the largest election protection programs in the country, enlisting thousands of volunteers to do poll watching nationwide. We received feedback that their volunteers absolutely loved it and that it saved their coalition admins a combined hundreds of hours of labor. The app, built in Elixir, included a front-end shift search and signup for volunteers as well as a back-end for admin shift management. Are you wanting to join the election protection effort in 2024?
