Program Advisory Committees
The Role Of The Advisory Committee
Every occupational training program at Napa Valley College is guided by an Advisory Committee made up of business owners, professionals, program faculty, and other subject matter experts. The role of the Advisory Committee is to help program faculty with curriculum and establishing performance standards that reflect the needs of industry and the community.
Advisory Committees are required to meet at least twice each school year, typically once in the fall and once in the spring. The Program Coordinator is responsible for scheduling meetings, developing agendas, and preparing minutes of each meeting. Committee roster lists are also maintained by the program coordinators and are submitted to the Career Education & Workforce Development Office (CEWD), and web rosters (with private contact information removed) are posted on this website. Advisory committee roster lists, agendas and minutes are available for review, please see the menu on the right for the files that have been submitted to CEWD for posting. Or, check with the program coordinator for the most recent information on the program.
The CEWD office asks coordinators to forward their agendas for posting on the website 48 hours or more before each meeting, and to physically post their agendas in their department areas and/or classrooms or online on their faculty pages.
