It was fitting for my first flag raising ceremony this year to take place in Belmar, NJ—my hometown. This was their first year raising the flag and I thought about how much it would've meant to me as a young kid walking past the plaza all those years ago to see a rainbow flag.

Sorry, , but requiring school staff to “out” LGBTQ+ students to their parents is wrong.
Coming out is a personal decision. We won’t allow government-mandated “outing” that puts the health of our young people at risk.
