Hot take 🌶️ The Twitter acquisition+layoff was Elon’s gift to the tech industry: giving leaders the cultural permission to critically reevaluate their business, cut headcount, and dramatically reducing burn.
If you want to achieve anything meaningful, you must be willing to give up the notion that everyone (or even most people) will like you.
This of course isn’t a free pass to be an asshole. But cultivating self-delusion and avoiding hard decisions while running a company is worse. Ineffectiveness is inexcusable.
