Last Congress, under previous leadership, Capitol security was politicized. Today's hearing with Acting House Sergeant at Arms Mr. McFarland focused on how we can restore trust in the office, return the USCP Board to its original mission, and plan for long-term security. 🧵

Our hearing last week examined the ballot shortage in Luzerne County, PA on Election Day 2022. Unfortunately, local election officials declined to testify about why nearly 1/3 of polling locations ran out of ballots. There must be accountability.

In February of 2022, Democrats still had the Capitol closed to the American people. This Congress, under a majority, the People’s House is fully open. In February alone, the CVC welcomed 62,965 visitors.
