Working with lights

- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to talk about lights in Cinema 4D and the various types that we have available to us and how they work. In every scene you have a default light, just as you have a default camera. But when you create a light, you can click down here on the Lights menu and we'll add an omni light. This is a light that shines in all directions. That default light has now been turned off, and the light that is in our object manager is taking over the lighting of the whole scene. Lights are used to describe the contours of the geometry and also the quality of the materials applied to the geometry. So with this omni light, we can use our Move tool and move it around in the viewport, and we get a bit of an update as to where the light is shining on this geometry.
