What is Zyrtec and how is it used?
Zyrtec is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of cold or allergy (sneezing, itching, watery eyes or runny nose). Zyrtec may be used alone or with other medications.
Zyrtec is an antihistamine.
It is not known if Zyrtec is safe and effective in children younger than 2 years of age.
What are the possible side effects of Zyrtec?
- fast or pounding heartbeat,
- weakness,
- tremors (shaking),
- sleep problems (insomnia),
- severe feeling of restlessness,
- hyperactivity,
- confusion,
- vision problems, and
- little or no urination
Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.
The most common side effects of Zyrtec include:
- dizziness,
- drowsiness,
- dry mouth,
- nausea,
- constipation, and
- feeling tired
