Shawnté James, M.D., is a newborn hospitalist in Washington, DC, and a member of the BabyCenter Medical Advisory Board. She is also an adjunct assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She received her MD from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta and did her internship and residency in pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine.
