As promised, I've revived my blog. No guarantees on how frequently or regularly I will post, but it will be more than once a year.

this is the kind of crap that makes me want a fully analog car from the 80s as my next car

More car hacking!
Earlier this year, we were able to remotely unlock, start, locate, flash, and honk any remotely connected Honda, Nissan, Infiniti, and Acura vehicles, completely unauthorized, knowing only the VIN number of the car.
Here's how we found it, and how it works:

Missing the crazy Taiwanese election vibes this time around but so cool to see all the coverage!
Maybe when the official results come out I'll have to play with it too...

I'm a couple years late but just watched Tenet. Too many plot holes and possibly the most frustratingly unsatisfying Nolan film I've seen. Gets worse the more I think about it.
if this whole fiasco actually forces me off twitter, I'm going to enjoy my newfound freedom and not dive headfirst into another social media replacement. I need some time to recover all the brain cells I've lost to twitter

Three years ago today, I cancelled a trip to Zurich to meet my ex at the time and replaced it with a trip to DC to meet my current partner, despite only having met him twice in Taipei. Three years on, we are figuring out how to cohabitate peacefully in Taipei.

I wonder if this is why we're seeing a huge price inflation in cars from the late 90s / early 2000s that are still relatively DIY-able. It also makes me wish for a car built on fully open source hardware + software components for maximum repair-ability.

But I feel like it's not just the iPhone, I feel like my Android devices have gotten worse too as phones got bigger. I would've thought that bigger phone = better typing but I made noticeably fewer typos on my <5inch phones (with bezels)

And yet, at the same time, many important issues are being ignored by tech because they seem unsexy. Specifically, I'm talking about things like housing, public transportation, education, sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, healthcare, etc.
