A few months back I was invited to chat with a few folks about where co-production and patient and public involvement overlap and contrast. I don't remember what I said but I remember enjoying the chat. Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Somehow the year has flown, and I'm promoting our Masters in Midwifery programme again! If you are interested in studying with us at Bangor please get in touch - j.field@bangor.ac.uk. We've also got modules that can be taken on their own, so your learning can be really flexible

Just a quick correction - you only need to wear appropriate PPE and practice social distancing if you're taking photos as a team. We'd love to see your faces, so don't worry about masks if you're taking an individual selfie

To help break the taboo of talking about sexual violence & abuse we planning to launch an exciting podcast. It will be a space where survivors, professionals and anyone who wants to learn can listen to honest conversations about topics linked to sexual violence, abuse & trauma.

‘If all low-risk women gave birth at home in 2017, cesarean rates would have reduced from 13.4% to 2.7%’. And there’s more.

Back to being a student again - learning an incredible amount on the Sexual Violence short course at London Met university. Presentation assessment done, written assignment still to go! Giving me a broad knowledge base about sexual violence, that I hope to apply to healthcare.

I'm looking forward to speaking to the this afternoon about women's rights and bodily autonomy in childbirth, and some stories of what happens to those women and midwives who try to birth and work outside the system. I'll be using this quote!

What a fantastic day of listening and learning - I hope that everyone who attended has come away with a deeper understanding of how we can optimise maternity care for survivors of sexual abuse & violence. Thank you again to everyone who made today possible.
