New articles in mainspace and they shouldn't be there:[edit]

The newly created articles like Dil Haari, Haya Kay Rang, Mere Khwab Lauta Do and Na Katro Pankh Mere are in worst conditions, have references of blogs and trash websites and have no citations from reliable sources expect one in Na Katro Pankh Mere. Please review these articles. 59.103.216.228 (talk) 09:55, 9 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Always humorous to see a Bttowadch sock trying to get articles deleted. Hmmm, hoping to get paid for creating them yourself? Ravensfire (talk) 20:59, 9 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Request[edit]

@Ravensfire: Sir, are you a "global" pending changes reviewer? If yes, then kindly revert the last edit on hi:अलका नूपुर as it is vandalism. Thanking in anticipation. 117.234.164.36 (talk) 14:17, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Reverting all edits made by a sock[edit]

Hi, I am Itcouldbepossible! Recently I saw that you had opened an SPI case against Sidhu Subhas Babu, and now CU has confirmed them to be a sockpuppet of YAM. Good catch. But alongside this, I saw that you have reverted each and every edit made by Sidhu. Was it really needed? Can it be actually done? For example, the sock could have made some useful edits as well, like improving articles or stuff. Maybe 98 percent of his edits were bad faith, but some could be good faith as well. Consider this edit. It was made in good faith and what he was merely doing was add TRP ratings to a TV show with reliable sources. So should edits like this be reverted even if they are a sockpuppet. I am new out here, but I think what you have done from your side needs justification. How would you have reverted if the sock would have made, say around 5000 edits? Is there a policy of reverting edits made by a sockpuppet especially when the edit actually isn't disruptive and improves the article. Would you please take a moment to explain me this facts? Don't really know how many good edits were reverted because he was a sockpuppet. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 02:30, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Zero edits from that editor are made in good faith. They have been WP:BANNED from editing because of the number of socks they have created. They have made unsourced edits, edits with material not found in sources, edits with material contradicted by sources. They ignore the MOS and consensus and only follow their preferences. I will spend zero of my time reviewing edits from an editor that has wasted so much of so many others time. Ravensfire (talk) 02:35, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
But what about the edit that gave you. Do you think that it was made in bad faith? And something more I have to tell you. All edits made by 142.120.34.183 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) could actually be YAM lout socking again. So you might want to keep an eye on it. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 02:42, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Given there's were several exaggerations in that exact edit, you want me to spend any of my time on an editor that doesn't give a damn about Wikipedia policies or anyone else but themself? Not a chance. If they were editing in good faith, they'd actually follow WP:STANDARDOFFER and yeah, that's been pointed out to them. YAM doesn't care about anyone but themself. The IP probably isn't YAM. They usually use templates for show start/end dates. There are a couple of ranges that I know YAM normally works out of - this was the most recent, but since it was blocked, they have been using accounts. PLEASE DO NOT EDIT THINGS THAT YOU DONT KNOW UNDO YOUR CHANGES OF REMOVING INFOBOX IN ACTOR SHAFI — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiki unofficial editors (talkcontribs) 14:05, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Wiki unofficial editors, when an infobox has unsourced information about a living person (WP:BLP), or the article intro is written more by a marketing team and full of WP:PUFFERY and WP:POV text, they will be removed. Also please read WP:OWN - nobody owns articles on Wikipedia, you cannot demand others stay away. Ravensfire (talk) 14:08, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

MNWiki84556 (talk) 06:14, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@MNWiki84556 please don't add information without also adding a reliable source that supports that information. One of Wikipedia's core pillars is that readers can verify what was added. Information added without including a source is very likely to be removed. You are responsible for including the source when you add information. Ravensfire (talk) 13:13, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There is no source in Google, what I edit it is thier youtube channel and instgram, instgram and twitter.the announced film Poster are source to me What can I do MNWiki84556 (talk) 20:40, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@MNWiki84556, instagram and twitter posts are considered WP:PRIMARY, so they can be used as sources as long as it's basic information, about the author (meaning the company in this case) only. Youtube is more challenging as a source, see WP:YOUTUBE. If you haven't read the reliable source page I linked, it mentions this. Ravensfire (talk) 13:20, 5 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Rohitashv[edit]

Hi someone moved the Page Rohitash Gaud to this page. As I have no idea how page move request works can you look after this matter. Sid95Q (talk) 22:41, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Sid95Q, Wow, that's a lot of move activity that happened. I tried to move the page to Rohitash Gaud, but since it already exists (and I don't have the Page Mover user right), you'll need to go to WP:RM#TR and request the move there. This should be a non-controversial move as the WP:COMMONNAME appears to be Rohitash Gaud. He's credited with some of the other names, so there should be redirects from those spellings to that page. I would also note that the page was moved from that title by a now blocked sock puppet a few days ago. That should help reinforce this is a non-controversial move. Would you consider becoming a New Page Reviewer?[edit]

Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg
Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hi Ravensfire,

I've recently been looking for editors to invite to join the new page reviewing team, and after reviewing your editing history, I think you would be a good candidate. Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; the new page reviewing team needs help from experienced users like yourself.

Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, most pages are easy to review, and habits are quick to develop). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us. If you choose to apply, you can drop an application over at WP:PERM/NPR. If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message on my talk page or at the reviewer's discussion board.

Cheers, and hope to see you around, (t · c) buidhe 20:30, 27 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Moved pages to draft[edit]

Why you always moved pages to draf space. You or any other reviewer can suggest the improvement by adding the tag on page. But you directly move my pages to draft. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Insaanhuok (talkcontribs) 05:51, 1 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Insaanhuok when you are creating very short articles with minimal information and not enough solid sources with significant coverage, moving the articles to draft is re right answer. Having a production section and a reception section (with sources!) would be ideal. Using scraper sites as sources doesn't help either. Ravensfire (talk) 11:59, 1 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Moved pages to draft[edit]

This actress made her debut recently. So don't you think, we can't find much sources about her. still I try my best and use many source and information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Insaanhuok (talkcontribs) 21:58, June 5, 2022 (UTC)

@Insaanhuok: First, please remember to sign your talk page posts with ~~~~ at the end. Most visual editors will help with that. Second, new actresses rarely meet WP:NACTOR. Multiple significant roles are required or winning a notable award. Ravensfire (talk) 03:27, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Review My Draft[edit]

Hey Ravensfire, hope you're doing good. The draft you said to add content and sources to, Draft:Khidmat Guzar, I have added plot and sufficient information required. Kindly, review the draft and suggest me an appropriate action. (talk) 10:24, 9 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Lillyput4455 my apologies, I've managed to keep skipping over this despite intending to take a look. I'm planning on looking it over this evening. Ravensfire (talk) 18:21, 13 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Lillyput4455 It's better than it was, but still not quite there. The sourcing still isn't the best. The hipinpakistan.com source is the best one, it actually focuses on the show. The rest are passing mentions in articles or basic landing pages. Sources that have significant coverage about the show (not just a mention of the show title) are needed. Professional reviews of the show, in depth coverage of the production. Ravensfire (talk) 16:54, 14 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay Thank you for your time @Ravensfire, I'll try to look for the sources relevant to the show then will let you know. Thank you! Lillyput4455 (talk) 20:38, 14 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Give better information is spam or not ?[edit]

Give reference to information provided to the people better understanding but some one say it's spam so how can I provide this information? Love958 (talk) 20:09, 9 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Love958 The first issue is that the site is not a reliable source. It's a blog and probably scraping content from other sites. Second, you are quite likely connected to that site, meaning you need to read WP:PAID and make any required disclosures. Don't use Wikipedia to promote a site by spamming links, which is exactly what you were doing. It's not acceptable and can lead to you being blocked and/or the site put on the spam black list which will stop anyone from adding links to the site. Ravensfire (talk) 20:16, 9 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you for your supporting and best reply but I can't promoting or advertising Love958 (talk) 20:53, 9 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Koundinyajayanth I'm not a AFC reviewer, but I can give you some feedback on Draft:Saurabh Vaibhav. A big issue is that it's hard to tell if the article is talking about the pair, or just one of them. It switches from one to the other (They have ... He has...). Very confusing for the reader. WP:NMUSIC is the notability help for this area. They've composed songs for multiple films, that's a plus. They've been nominated for several significant awards, which is also a plus, but the article doesn't mention it much. It says they have won awards, but an album where they contributed one song among many really needs to be precisely spelled out (and sourced![1]). Minor awards generally aren't mentioned (if there's no article, it's generally considered minor).
The sources are iffy - Times of India is well known for paid news, and this is especially true around film/television. Interviews are generally not considered helpful for notability reasons. Lists on apple music, you tube and similar sites aren't really good sources for articles. Some really good advice is at WP:THREE - identify your top three sources, make sure they have significant coverage about the topic, not an interview and from a reputable news site (please, not TOI!).
I think they (I'm assuming this is about the duo) are notable, but that the article doesn't really show it yet. The phrasing especially needs to get fixed, it's extremely confusing to read right now. I'm doing some basic cleanup stuff, but hopefully you'll take this feedback and do the work needed to bring this article up to an easy accept for a reviewer. Ravensfire (talk) 01:01, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
yea will change the phrase and add the notable links, thanks a lot for your feedback it means a lot! Koundinyajayanth (talk) 12:17, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New page reviewer granted[edit]

Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg

Hi Ravensfire. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. – Joe (talk) 09:58, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New Page Patrol newsletter June 2022[edit]

Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg
New Page Review queue June 2022

Hello Ravensfire,

Backlog status

At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000[a] at the end of May.

Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size.[b]

In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).

While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).

Backlog drive

A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by buidhe and Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up here. WikiProject Barnstar Hires.png Barnstars will be awarded.

TIP – New school articles

Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.

Misc

There is a new template available, {{NPP backlog}}, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:

Very low unreviewed pages backlog: 1567 pages according to DatBot as of 08:00, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.

Reminders
  • Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
  • If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.
  • If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
  • To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
Notes
  1. ^ not including another ~6,000 redirects
  2. ^ The number of weekly reviews reported in the NPP feed includes redirects, which are not included in the backlog we primarily track.

Alia Bhatt is not a British actress. She is an Indian actress who predominantly works in Bollywood cinema. https://www.google.com/search?q=british+actresses&sxsrf=ALiCzsadDNvAoPVnqyHIpUTbQuc6Xr2ytQ%3A1656485830566&ei=xve7YsqSIsOF-Abk0b9Q&oq=&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAEYADIHCCMQ6gIQJzIHCC4Q6gIQJzIHCC4Q6gIQJzIHCCMQ6gIQJzIHCCMQ6gIQJzIHCCMQ6gIQJzIHCCMQ6gIQJzIHCCMQ6gIQJzIHCC4Q6gIQJzIHCC4Q6gIQJ0oECEEYAEoECEYYAFAAWABgqA1oAXABeACAAQCIAQCSAQCYAQCgAQGwAQrAAQE&sclient=gws-wiz This is an example of British actresses So I would like to change the description which says she is a British actress with Indian descent. Alia Bhatt has a British citizenship but she is NOT a British actress, she is an Indian actress. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mickyds27 (talkcontribs) 07:20, 29 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Mickyds27, the convention for Wikipedia articles is to use their citizenship for the description. Bhatt is a British actress who performs in India films. Please see WP:ETHNICITY. Ravensfire (talk) 12:10, 29 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Redirect of Murder of Kanhaiya Lal[edit]

Hi Ravensfire, you redirected a page on the Murder of Kanhaiya Lal. However, this was discussed here and a consensus was arrived at to keep the page separate. As such, could you please create consensus before the action? The page was not for the subject (so WP:BLP1E doesn't apply). It was for the act. See Samuel Paty. -- Webberbrad007 (talk) 07:32, 29 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Webberbrad007 my apologies, the page came up under new page patrol without me realizing there was a discussion, hence my WP:BOLD redirect. I'll be interested to see how this evolves and if it warrants a standalone article in a months time. Ravensfire (talk) 12:01, 29 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ahad Raza Mir's LSA win[edit]

Raven, if I provide you better references will you rewrite the Ahad Raza Mir's LSA win section?? I am sick of writing the same thing again and again, followed by your deletions. Here is the reference: https://www.somethinghaute.com/ahad-raza-mir-is-like-my-son-says-naumaan-ijaz/ Muhammad Ahmad SM (talk) 18:42, 30 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Muhammad Ahmad SM, having other editors change or remove material you've added is a normal part of Wikipedia. Couple of things to note - first, sources are absolutely needed for something like this, and you started without sources at all. Sources need to support everything in the edit, and some of what you've added hasn't been in the sources. Finally, I think most of what you've added is more appropriate in the specific award show. Snubs are a normal part of any award, as is complaining about them. If it's not widespread and actually involves some critical analysis and commentary, it's questionable to include it here.
Specific to the change you requested, the source you gave is not that good. It's one person venting, and that's it. Most of what you had added in the last version isn't supported by the source, that's called original research. The source far below the level needed for something like this. I am probably going to start moving some of this to the show specific articles, and look at what would be relevant to stay in the main article. I think something short about the #MeToo impact on the 18th LSA is relevant as it seems to have had widespread impact and notice. I'm not sure about the rest staying in the main article, but I plan on moving the information to the show specific article. Ravensfire (talk) 20:00, 30 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

My article is about an award wining women entrepreneur[edit]

@Marjianitu, please double-check Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Nasima_Akter_Nisha, I was not the one that nominated the article for deletion. My only edit to the article was to remove a WP:MIRROR of Wikipedia you were using as a source. Please allow the AFD discussion to run it's course, you're welcome to leave a comment there noting that you've edited the article after the AFD started and provide reasons the article should be kept. Ravensfire (talk) 13:38, 1 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Understood. But now it shows that its under deletation discussion or something. You may set up this tag ? Marjianitu (talk) 04:26, 2 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Take a look at the article page history, that will tell you who felt the article should be deleted. My suggestion to you is not to worry about that, but to read Help:My article got nominated for deletion!, and understand the types of points you need to make. Articles on Wikipedia need to show that the subject is notable. Okay, she's won an award, is the award notable (meaning, does it have an article)? That's something to bring up. WP:THREE is a good help article to read as well. Identify the best three sources for the article - from reliable sources (think major news sites, NOT press-releases, blogs, publicity, etc), independent of the subject (not interviews) and have significant coverage. You need to make those points at the AFD or the article will probably be deleted. You could also ask for the article to be moved to draft space and work on it there until it's accepted by a reviewer. Dil Awaiz (2022 TV series) & Aik Sitam Aur[edit]

Both of these articles which were moved to draftspace sometimes ago, has now again moved to mainspace without adding reliable citataions from independent sources while the both has just a single source of Dawn (newspaper) and Aik Sitam Aur has another source of Daily Times (Pakistan) which is actually false and doest belong to this article.39.34.170.60 (talk) 10:08, 16 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I always find it humorous when serial sock user who shows zero regard for Wikipedia, whose articles still have some unsourced material from time to time and more frequently a promotional tone, complains about another editor doing exactly what they've done. Warning ⚠️from India Predator The Butcher of Delhi[edit]

Hi there! Could you please tell me and educate me why the hell you put the article Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi to redirect and also for deletion? Point me the valid reason why the hell you put that article to redirect and deletion? Firstly, the article has no issues on the field of content, citations, title, and even it has fulfilled basic Wikipedia guidelines. Tell me what is the reason behind all this! Fucker!!! Morgankarki (talk) 16:01, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Morgankarki Stop the Personal attacks, it's petty, childish and I certainly won't interact with someone that insults others. You're welcome to discuss with me after you've calmed down and retracted (use strikethrough) the crap in your above message. Also, read the message I left before again, it tells you exactly why. Ravensfire (talk) 16:12, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ok fine!! But It need to be reviewed as soon as possible and kept the article in Mainspace. And kindly mention the reason in the article talk page so that other users who are unknown on this find it. Morgankarki (talk) 16:17, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Please strikethrough the insults in your initial message, and you really should do the same in the other places you left the same post. Ravensfire (talk) 16:26, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

First see the topic My Reply to you Morgankarki (talk) 16:30, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I've seen it. Yes, you did mean to disrespect - the tone of your message is abundantly clear on that. You still haven't retracted it, and you've left it on two user talk pages and the article talk page. Tell me, if I'd left a message with that tone on your page, how likely would you be to work with me? Especially when I've left it up after you requested I retract / redact parts of the message?
So that's my venting done. What you've added is probably enough for a pretty easy DRV overturn. There's some formatting issues and the review section needs some copyediting and better summary of the sources. It looks like you copy and pasted sentences in several places, especially the lead which is a problem. You need to summarize sources and rewrite, completely in your own words, what's in those sources. "notorious serial killer Chandrakant Jha who ruthlessly dismembered his victims and scattered their body parts around the city of Delhi" is from here. Several other places you've got very lurid phrasing is most likely copy-paste and it's also not in an appropriate tone for an encyclopedia article. Ravensfire (talk) 16:44, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I've removed your inappropriate post from the article talk page, and a user removed your post from their talk page. There's still one on your talk page that would be good for you to remove. I've given up hope you'll redact your inappropriate comments from the post here. Wikipedia is a collaborative environment. You WILL deal with other editors removing or changing your edits. You must learn to assume good faith and work with other editors. This can't happen when you start with hostility. I'm glad you have started discussing this in a calmer manner. I'm going to be copying my second para above to the article talk page where further discussions about the article belong. Ravensfire (talk) 16:55, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

My Reply to You ⚠️[edit]

Hey! I don't mean to disrespect but the article really don't need any redirect and nominating for deletion process. Kindly review the article as fast as possible and allow it to move from draft to mainspace on the particular date with the message on my talk page. I need to know where this article has the issue?! What Next for Indian Predator article???[edit]

Ravensfire, me and some other users had edited this article on the Ravensfire user sandbox and done enough maintenance required for it and the content (Plagiarism) like was removed from the inappropriate headings and section used over there. Citations which are unauthentic was removed. Link had been fixed. So to all the top users over there, what is the remaining things that is still required to publish this article to Mainspace. Please do mention on this topic!!! Morgankarki (talk) 03:38, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Nalina's at it again.[edit]

Hello, Ravensfire! I recently warned Nalina about some edits she recently made. First off I would like to thank you for not leaving this unhandled, but taking the time out of your day to cleanup the mess. This is probably her third-last warning before I request a block, but she's making edits that have been problematic in almost every way. Due to that, I am not sure which administrator board to request a block for her. Seeing you are the more experienced editor, is it possible if I can leave a message on your talk page again, and you can request a block for her on an administrator board, and once again, thanks for your hard work and efforts! Sincerely, Dinoz1 (chat?) 15:34, 26 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Dinoz1 I'll take a look, thank you. Ravensfire (talk) 20:23, 27 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

TMKOC[edit]

What's the problem sir. Anupamaa, Ye hai chahatein, CID, Wagle Ki Duniya, etc. Shows has story arcs. Why can't you let TMKOC page keep story arc/Episode section. It tells the story simply and help user know about the episodes. . If there is any rules CHANGE IT. it pisses off actually. What's big deal if tmkoc had story arc section. What's the problem. It will definitely help. .. I request you to add story arc section. Thank you ☺️ 106.207.253.147 (talk) 12:16, 28 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Waqasdesi, seriously, stop spamming your site. This wasn't your first account promoting that site. I will ask for it to be blacklisted if there are anymore additions. Dead links can usually be recovered through archive.org - [4]. NO MORE SPAM. Ravensfire (talk) 03:36, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
yes im trying to get a backlink from wikipedia, can you tell me a legal way of doing that? Waqasdesi (talk) 04:33, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Waqasdesi bluntly, it won't happen. it's not a reliable source, and using Wikipedia to try to promote your site is absolutely not the purpose of Wikipedia. Further additions of the site will result in a blacklist request. Ravensfire (talk) 04:45, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also, all links on Wikipedia are set as no-follow, so there isn't any page rank advantage. Ravensfire (talk) 04:55, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Waqasdesi and just noticed that your prior account Waqasdurani (talk · contribs) was globally locked from spamming. Now you're in WP:EVADE territory after creating a new account to get around a block. Don't go down that road. You need to get your original account unblocked, which is not going to be simple as it's a global block. Add in you continuing to spam with this new account, and you've put yourself in a very difficult place. Ravensfire (talk) 14:53, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022[edit]

New Page Review queue August 2022

Hello Ravensfire,

Backlog status

After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.

Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.

Coordination
MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
Open letter to the WMF
The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
TIP - Reviewing by subject
Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.
NPPSCrossDarkBlue&LightBlue.png
New reviewers
The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 10)[edit]

Hello @Ravensfire I hope you're doing well. Can you look at my article creation, if it's eligible for page triage would you consider marking it. I know it's not advice to ask for review due to backlog. Please suggest me improvement as well. Thanks for your consideration. C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 14:12, 15 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@C1K98V, No worries. I've marked it as reviewed. Cast members are sourced, there's a fair amount of information about the show (that's sourced). The release section is a bit weak with it being mainly routine marketing fluff without any context. MOS:FILMMARKETING talks about this, but that's film specific and the Television MOS is silent, so I've given up pushing hard on things like this. Article is a solid start. Ravensfire (talk) 18:57, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Ravensfire yeah I myself was a bit doubtful with the release section, but that's how I have been creating it or I'm used to now. I will look into other articles to learn about the release section more. I will go through the above mos as well. Thanks alot for quick assistance. Wikipedia for the Actor Walid Riachy in Kurup (film)[edit]

Hello, i was reading kurup (film) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurup_(film)

& i saw your last edits, im a director & honestly a big fan of Walid Riachy a main actor in the movie & when i was reading i noticed that his name isn’t highlighted in the cast section, wanted to go to his wikipedia but couldn’t find one, wanted to read more about him to get in touch with him for a movie.

Im just highlighting that because he is a notable actor on the big screen in Mollywood Cinema & Hollywood & would be nice having all info about him in Wikipedia & i thought maybe i should get in touch with someone who edited the article. Wish you a nice day Denisbock (talk) 03:21, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

To start, please don't use forum posts as sources (see [5] for example). They are NOT RS|reliable sources. If you can't find any valid sources, it shouldn't be included. You're in a far better spot than I am to find Pakistani sources, to be honest. Ravensfire (talk) 19:40, 12 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

October 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is to let you know that one of your recent contributions of a page article being moved to draft space has been reverted as a matter of fact it being supported with many reliable sources. Do familiarise yourself with WP:INSPECTOR. Simply moving a article to draft space for small reasons about having proper citations could be done using a template instead. Your actions can be discouraging to people who genuinely are trying to build content on Wikipedia. Thanks  Rejoy2003  05:26, 16 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Fortunately, @Rejoy2003, you've created enough articles to have known to create something with large unsourced sections in draft space from the start, so this was a courtesy move for you intended to help Wikipedia as a whole. Do read WP:AGF, and note that leaving retaliatory, bad faith warnings like this is disruptive and portrays you in a rather poor light. Ravensfire (talk) 14:35, 16 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New Page Patrol newsletter October 2022[edit]

Hello Ravensfire,

New page reviewer of the year cup.svg

Much has happened since the last newsletter over two months ago. The open letter finished with 444 signatures. The letter was sent to several dozen people at the WMF, and we have heard that it is being discussed but there has been no official reply. A related article appears in the current issue of The Signpost. If you haven't seen it, you should, including the readers' comment section.

Awards: Barnstars were given for the past several years (thanks to MPGuy2824), and we are now all caught up. The 2021 cup went to John B123 for leading with 26,525 article reviews during 2021. To encourage moderate activity, a new "Iron" level barnstar is awarded annually for reviewing 360 articles ("one-a-day"), and 100 reviews earns the "Standard" NPP barnstar. About 90 reviewers received barnstars for each of the years 2018 to 2021 (including the new awards that were given retroactively). All awards issued for every year are listed on the Awards page. Check out the new Hall of Fame also.

Software news: Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have connected with WMF developers who can review and approve patches, so they have been able to fix some bugs, and make other improvements to the Page Curation software. You can see everything that has been fixed recently here. The reviewer report has also been improved.

NPP backlog May – October 15, 2022

Suggestions:

  • There is much enthusiasm over the low backlog, but remember that the "quality and depth of patrolling are more important than speed".
  • Reminder: an article should not be tagged for any kind of deletion for a minimum of 15 minutes after creation and it is often appropriate to wait an hour or more. (from the NPP tutorial)
  • Reviewers should focus their effort where it can do the most good, reviewing articles. Other clean-up tasks that don't require advanced permissions can be left to other editors that routinely improve articles in these ways (creating Talk Pages, specifying projects and ratings, adding categories, etc.) Let's rely on others when it makes the most sense. On the other hand, if you enjoy doing these tasks while reviewing and it keeps you engaged with NPP (or are guiding a newcomer), then by all means continue.
  • This user script puts a link to the feed in your top toolbar.

Backlog:

Everlasting Fireworks looped.gif

Saving the best for last: From a July low of 8,500, the backlog climbed back to 11,000 in August and then reversed in September dropping to below 6,000 and continued falling with the October backlog drive to under 1,000, a level not seen in over four years. Keep in mind that there are 2,000 new articles every week, so the number of reviews is far higher than the backlog reduction. To keep the backlog under a thousand, we have to keep reviewing at about half the recent rate!

Reminders
  • Newsletter feedback - please take this short poll about the newsletter.
  • If you're interested in instant messaging and chat rooms, please join us on the New Page Patrol Discord, where you can ask for help and live chat with other patrollers.
  • Please add the project discussion page to your watchlist.
  • If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be a reviewer, please ask any admin to remove you from the group. If you want the tools back again, just ask at PERM.
  • To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Hey. I reviewed this one as there now appear to be sufficient citations to prove notability. I saw the running battle you were having with the article and its author, so just thought I'd ping you and let you know! Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 07:16, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Alexandermcnabb, thanks for the heads up! It's definitely better than it was. There's still some puffery language in there, but dealing with the creator is, umm, challenging and I just don't feel up to wasting time in another edit-war over something obvious but they have to be forced to the talk page to discuss. My edit was both true and constructive in the light of the last events with SSCSUS and it's FOUNDER Paul Watson being kicked out and the new BOD changing from direct action to being GREEDPEACE V.2.0, Paul Watson was against the sale from the beginning and on top of that the boat had just been refitted with new engines and navigational equipment (all done via donations from supporters of SSCS), the new BOD has sold or scrapped 4 vessels so they could by a high end luxury boat (party boat) with no real purpose of campaigns other than providing living space for the brass and friends 95.223.44.231 (talk) 13:30, 25 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Ems 27 03, you have been requested and told you CANNOT continue to add information without a source. DO NOT DO THAT AGAIN. You WILL be reported and asked to be blocked. Read WP:V and Reliable Sources for help understanding the reasons. Seriously, you need to stop with the unsourced editing and ignoring those concerns and just edit-warring to push your version. Okay, you reverted again, you've been reported to WP:AIV. Ravensfire (talk) 14:45, 10 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

AFC review[edit]

Hello Ravensfire, Hope you're doing well. Can you please consider reviewing the Draft:Kaveri Priyam, and sharing improvement as well. Thanks, stay safe. C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 01:17, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@C1K98V, apologies, I've only done a quick glance through, but it's far better than it was at the last decline. The main hurdle as always is showing the multiple significant roles. Reviews of the show as a whole (not just one episode) that call out her performance (even critical views) can really help for that. I think after Dil Diyaan Gallaan is broadcast, that will be easier to demonstrate. Ravensfire (talk) 04:35, 23 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sock back removing huge content and fact with sources[edit]

Seems like Sock Eswaran Naveen [6] as Sensris [7] removing huge content and fact with sources. Nehansaxan (talk) 16:41, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Nehansaxan, This is probably a sock, but it's not likely to be EN. A CU check was performed a few weeks ago that likely would have at least triggered a closer look. I can see the similar edits though, that is interesting. With the volume of their edits over 5+ months, there have been multiple CU checks on EN socks. That said, what they are removing is, in part, just name-dropping. When a secondary sources critically comments on pairings (good or bad), that can be notable, but just mentioning names is puffery. I've done some cleanup in that section, but really Sensris's edits were mostly in good faith. Using edit-summaries would have been helpful to explain their edits. Ravensfire (talk) 18:26, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
For sure this is Sock of Eswaran Naveen returned as as Praanchi prroooti. [8] Removed the whole important content and fact with sources Nehansaxan (talk) 19:25, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Adding notability template again to Sanjeev Tyagi Article.[edit]

Believe it or not, I've reviewed the sources. It's still questionable, and with the AFD not all that along ago, your move was not ideal. Please continue this on the article talk page. Ravensfire (talk) 16:41, 7 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also, TellyChakkar is generally not considered a reliable source, see WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force#Not reliable. Ravensfire (talk) 19:52, 7 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Talk inappropriately in my Talk page. Please help me to open SPI report. I'm not quiet familiar with this. Nehansaxan (talk) 08:42, 17 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Nehansaxan: (TALK PAGE STALKER) I recommend you read the first few paragraphs at WP:SPI, including the part "How to open a sockpuppet investigation". Dinoz1 (chat?) 12:39, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Ak131001[edit]

Hello Ravensfire, the Zimi09 CCI was just reopened and renamed with some socks included, just notifying you since I've seen you've already reverted and cleaned some of the edits listed there. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 04:12, 22 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Moneytrees, sigh. I would like to think that this editor would have learned from the last time, but quite obviously they haven't. Thank you for the notice, I'll try to help over the next couple of days. I should have connected the dots on this one. Ravensfire (talk) 14:08, 22 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I finished the remaining stuff, it wasn't too bad-- almost everything significant had been taken care of by you and others. Thank you for dealing with this sockmaster. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 22:33, 24 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Moneytrees that's good to hear! I've been thinking on Mohiuddin Trust - it's a redirect, but the full history is still present. Of course, there are some issues in what they created. Even in some of the early versions before other started pushing it as a redirect [14], the Earthquake paragraph is a direct copy of the opening paragraph of the source [15]. It might be easier to just delete the article as a G5 since the only substantial edits are from AK131001 socks, then recreate it as a redirect and protect it to stop them from doing anything further with it. If a neutral editor wants to create it later, draft space is a viable option. Hope the holidays are treating you and your family well! Ravensfire (talk) 17:57, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
