In addition to evaluations of other charities, GiveWell publishes evaluations of our own work. This page summarizes the funding we influenced in 2021, the most recent year for which data is available and analyzed.
Note that in 2022, we decided to discontinue using and tracking the "money moved" metric, which tracked the funding that was both raised and directed in a given year. Instead, we are now reporting separately on "funds raised" and "funds directed," which we believe will be simpler and clearer. However, we do still refer to money moved figures as our best proxy for funds directed in years prior to 2021. Please also note that, unless otherwise indicated, the figures in this report refer to our "metrics year" (February 1-January 31) rather than the calendar year (January 1-December 31).
See the appendix of our 2021 metrics report for a complete glossary of terms and an explanation of the changes to the way we report our funding metrics.
