Kathryn has worked in the human services field since 1993 in both direct care and leadership positions providing services in the community and on an outpatient basis in a variety of settings. In 2007 she went back to school to obtain her master’s degree in social work and graduated in 2011, and joined PrairieCare in 2013. Her main area of focus has been with grief and loss working in hospice for 8 years, she also enjoy working with couples.
Kathryn believes in providing a safe place and meeting people where they are at to offer support and healing through an individualized approach. Kathryn comes from a strengths based perspective and is eclectic in the modalities she uses including cognitive behavioral techniques, solution focused, and psychodynamic approaches. She believes in treating the emotional, social, physical, and spiritual components of each individual by empowering clients and providing support, teaching coping skills and other strategies for emotional wellbeing and healthy relationships.
In her spare time Kathryn enjoys time with friends and family, her pets, reading, learning, cooking, gardening, and connecting with nature every chance she gets!
