Jennifer Sanders, MA, LPP
Interim Liaison
After becoming a mama in 2012, I fell in love with the “hood” of motherhood. After more than a decade of working with children and families, I quickly realized that I could pair my love for psychology and motherhood and use it to help others. In April of 2017, I began a private practice in Louisville specializing in perinatal mental health, including PMADs as well as pregnancy and infant loss. I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and have been trained in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) by Postpartum Support International, as a postpartum doula by DONA International, and in lactation counseling. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve on PSI-KY’s Board to increase awareness, advocacy, resources, and services in our community.

“Pregnancy, childbirth and caring for a newborn is hard. I want all moms, birthing persons and their families to know they are not alone; that their struggles matter and that we are here to help. I’m honored to be part of the PSI family and serve our Kentucky community.”

Interim Secretary; Member at Large
Mom, Wife, Survivor
Licensed Psychological Practitioner in Private Practice
“I fully believe that parenting is the hardest job anyone can take on, even under the most ideal of circumstances. When those circumstance are less than ideal, when there are complications, mental health struggles, isolation, etc. it can feel exponentially more overwhelming. We were never meant to parent alone; it takes a village to raise a child and to raise a mama! Sometimes it can be hard to ask for help, I have found it to be one of the bravest things that we can do for both ourselves and our kiddos.”

“After I struggled in my postpartum journey, I knew I wanted to be able to help others during this chapter of their lives. How I would have wanted the maternal mental health support that PSI offers! But, I now know where to turn to in the future. I sought out the PMH-C training to be able to serve families in the Southcentral Kentucky area. Fueled with maternal mental health knowledge, I joined PSI KY to be an advocate of statewide change.”

Clare Kerrick
Member At-Large
Survivor and Advocate
“After my own experience with postpartum depression and anxiety, I knew that I wanted to help others who are struggling. In my volunteer position as a coordinator, I’ve encountered many people who felt the same way I did- afraid, alone, and ashamed. I feel so grateful to be able to collaborate with a wonderful group of people to spread awareness about postpartum mental health and increase resources across the commonwealth. I believe that together we can create a community that allows for future generations to come forward and receive the care they deserve.”

-Mother of two beautiful daughters
-Working with “Today’s Women” magazine local to Louisville
My name is Nicole, and I am a proud mother of two daughters! A fashion major, and Chicago Native. I have lived in Louisville for almost four years now and so excited to have joined a team of women to start the first Chapter here in Kentucky with PSI! I love connecting people to resources that are available to help make life just a little easier! I enjoy anything mother nature related, yoga, or simply being mindful and aware of the World around me. People coming together to help each other is the most wonderful thing I have experienced , besides having my two children. I strive to be a part of that as best I can and so happy to be introducing myself as part of PSI and all the great it has to offer!
