Update on Use of the DRDP in Transitional Kindergarten for Children with IEPs

The California Department of Education is delaying implementation of the DRDP in transitional kindergarten for children with IEPs until the fall of 2023:

Beginning fall 2023, the California Department of Education, Special Education Division (CDE, SED) will require the completion of the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP (2015) Preschool Fundamental View) for all children with individualized education programs (IEPs) enrolled in transitional kindergarten (TK).”

The webinars highlight the importance of early childhood educators and early childhood special educators/service providers working together to support children's authentic assessment and ways to share children's learning and development with families.

SELPAs are responsible for ensuring that all staff who administer the DRDP complete training.
