As the accrediting body and national authority for the Maternal Mental Health Friendly Initiative in the United States, The Bloom Foundation for Maternal Wellness is responsible for coordinating and conducting all processes necessary to achieve and maintain the Maternal Mental Health Friendly (MMHF) certification and to ensure national recognition of the MMHF™ certification in the United States. We do this by:

• Upholding the standards/criteria by successfully implementing the new standard care for all levels of maternal mental health services in the US.
• Assessing and accrediting birthing facilities and providers who treat and care for the perinatal patient population and ensuring they meet the standards and follow the steps required to achieve and maintain MMHF status.
• Generating widespread understanding of and enthusiasm for best practices for Maternal Mental Health.
