    Let me share my life’s story and why Apple's repair announcement is a big deal to me. Way back in 2003, I was trying to fix my clamshell iBook and googled for the service manual. All I found was sites that had been removed because of a DMCA takedown. /thread

    An update in device repair world: US District Judge in Massachusetts has delayed (again) a verdict in an automakers alliance lawsuit challenging the state’s Right to Repair law. The decision, which will now come no later than July 1, could have a big impact on car repairs in MA.

    Consumers need to be able to make good choices & choose longer lasting, repairable products. This is why a repairscore should display all relevant information in an understandable manner. Repairing broken products instead of replacing them must become the norm.🔧

    We demand that software updates for devices are available for a longer time, while at the same time performance isn't diminished. Also, end-users & independent repairers need to have access to spare parts and manuals - while making sure it's not too expensive or too late!

    AirPods have a new problem that is blocking resale of used pods. This is a major issue for refurbishers. It's not clear to me if it's a bug or intentional, but the net effect is dramatic.
