Stripe is for people who not only enjoy solving hard problems, they thrive on it. If that sounds like you, come and play a lead role in the next chapter of our story.
The best reason to work at Stripe is that you will have colleagues who support and challenge you to do the best work of your career. We combine a big-picture mindset with obsessive attention to the details, down to the last pixel, API parameter, and word.
We care about results more than resumes. We value managers who remain experts while developing talent and designing successful orgs. You can also have a big impact and advance far without managing anyone. We want you to take what you’ve been hired to do, and show us how it’s done—you might create something we never would have imagined. We have had account managers start a publishing arm, interns who have run business units, and hackathon participants who have built company-defining products.
I did not have a college degree, or any experience in tech, but I had decades of customer focus from working in retail. I had real-world business experience. And I was fairly technical for someone who didn’t work in tech.
We balance innovation with scrupulous attention to every bit and byte involved in the movement of money—because we can’t do our job well unless we do both. When we started, we emailed every API error to everyone at the company. Now, we have more than 250 million API requests a day—and we still care about each one.
We wish there was a book that described what we need to do next (we’d even publish it), but since there isn’t, we all have to write it together. You will need to find answers to questions you’ve never been asked before. Sometimes, you will be the first person ever to contemplate a particular problem. We want people who devour books for fun and approach new challenges with eager curiosity.
What I appreciate about Stripe is how reflexive, rigorous, and curious everyone is about their work. We seek fresh perspectives, challenge industry convention and assumptions, and develop innovative and automated solutions to solve big problems.
Our products aspire to make it possible for anyone, anywhere to participate in the internet economy. We are building diverse teams and an exceptionally welcoming culture to realize this enormous possibility.

Stripe tries to be nimble in how we work while giving you the opportunity and resources to have a leveraged impact on the world. You will be well-supported by both your coworkers and your benefits package.
We provide a thoughtful and balanced set of benefits that allows Stripes to be their best selves and do great work. Whether that means offering comprehensive mental, physical, and medical health plans, supporting Stripes’ financial futures, or providing fertility benefits and parental leave, our programs put Stripes and their families first.
I feel grateful that Stripe advocated for me to expand my horizons and strive to achieve more, not only in my career but in education as well.
We are voracious learners and teachers. Our Education team delivers an onboarding and product-training curriculum for all new Stripes, and hosts expert-led courses on topics like project management fundamentals and macroeconomics. Beyond the formal program, Stripes are constantly sharing knowledge with each other through conversation, documentation, reading groups, and informal talks.
We have weekly sessions where senior leaders meet all Stripes and provide updates on the business, answer questions, and dive deep into recent projects and priorities. We have job titles, but we’re not highly stratified; we make decisions based on the quality of an idea, not the seniority of the person proposing it.
Stripe hosts undergraduate and graduate interns from around the globe.
We have an opinionated set of principles, and we’re happy to be warts-and-all honest about them.
