The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is the state academic testing program. CAASPP is a system intended to provide information that can be used to monitor student progress and ensure that all students leave high school ready for college and career.
CAASPP includes computer adaptive tests in English language arts, mathematics, and science. Students in grades 3-8 and 11 take the computer adaptive tests in English language arts and math in the spring. Students in grades 5, 8, and an assigned high school grade also take the science test.
If you would like more information regarding your school’s testing schedule, please contact your school’s main office.
Following the spring testing, students will receive individual score reports electronically. Reports will include an overall score, and description of the student’s achievement level for English language arts, mathematics, and science if applicable.
These assessments are aligned to the Common Core State Standards in literacy and mathematics and include more rigorous content than the previous tests. Through CAASPP, districts gain valuable information and monitor student progress to ensure that all students master the new standards and are prepared for college and career opportunities beyond high school.

California’s state standards for science call for students to think and work like scientists and engineers — asking questions and learning through hands-on investigation and discovery. Working with science teachers, California developed the California Science Test (CAST), that emphasizes scientific thinking and reasoning. Students in grade 5, 8, and an assigned high school grade participate in this assessment. CAST is part of California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and its results will be included in the CAASPP Student Score Report.
How do I see my student's test scores in Aeries Parent Portal?
What if I don’t have access to a desktop computer?
There is a mobile app for Aeries Parent Portal. You can view your student’s scores on any device connected to the internet, including tablets and smartphones. Log into the parent portal on your device, either in the app or in a browser, to view the report. We understand that not all families will have access in this way. Paper copies of score reports will be available upon request from the school office.
Is my child’s information secure if it’s online?
Yes, the test scores are secure because they can be accessed only through Aeries Parent Portal, which requires a username and password to access.
Will I get scores faster?
Yes, you will be able to view your child’s scores online earlier than in the past. In the past, Student Score Reports had to be printed and mailed or sent home in student homework folders, which caused a delay. Now you can view the scores online in the Aeries parent portal as soon as they are available.
Can I still get a paper copy?
Student scores will always be available in the Aeries parent portal, so you can print a score report at any time.
