I really like having my Alexa hands free, without the need to tap the Buds. That was the main reason for my purchase. I also like the Ear Top Sizing Test in the Alexa app. It's useful to see if my Echo Buds are correctly inserted in my ears; especially since they are really poorly designed because they slip easily outside my ears. And don't get me wrong, I tried all 4 tips with or without wing tips. I found that the medium tips suit me best, but still I have to be very careful. So, no jogging, no running, no jumping for me if I don't want to lose them. Only simple walks are allow for me.

I also have Jabra Elite Active 65t Earbuds and with the standard medium tips, I can shake my head, run, jump without any fear of losing them. I wish I could do that with my Echo Buds 2nd gen but unfortunately no, I can't.

Besides that, I like them. But if I ever just lose them, I won't buy that generation again and wait for 3rd gen to see if they will improve the design.

Need to charge the case frequently! Ear fix isn’t that great! Slipped down number of times from the very first day of usage!

Sound quality is ok but the battery runs off quicker than published in the product description. Not at all worth for the money! Doesn’t deserve to be sold above 70 CAD

There are a lot of things I really like about these earbuds. My name and the term audiophile are never used in the same sentence. However, for an average general purpose user, the sound quality is fantastic. I watched reviews about the noise cancelling mode being okay but nothing special. I found it works well. What I would agree with (as some others have noted) is that pass-through mode doesn't let much of the ambient sound in. This would be a nice update in a future software release.

Most of all, I get complaints from others about the level of background noise and "empty room" like echo they hear when I'm talking on my cellular phone. Of course I don't notice this, but it's been reported by numerous people I talk with.

Generally speaking, I do like these. Having Alexa built in has been helpful. These work much better in my car than my Echo Auto when using the wake word to request audio or perform other commands.

In the 2nd gen, there are a few design flaws. The buds are smaller and feel like they're going to fall out. I guess thats how they avoided the suction problem. Second, even with ANR 'On' the buds make a very noticeable hiss sound. The sound quality of the buds are noticeably less than gen1 - its not as clear, especially with the background hiss noise. The battery life is dismal at around ~3.5 hours thus I have to put them back in the charger too often. Next, the charge case is difficult to keep in your hand. When you open the top, it pushes against your fingers as you hold it which has made me drop the case several times already - never had that issue with gen1. The matte finish makes it slide out of your hands far too easily. The charge cable was changed to a USB2 to USB3 interface. I overpaid for these because I had to ship them from the US. I regretted the purchase.
I had the 1st gen buds and loved them for the first year. Then the battery life in the right bud started to wane. Now I can only get 1 hour out of them. The main issue I had with 1st gen was the suction in the ears which was uncomfortable until the buds settled in my ears. However the sound and noise reduction was amazing. I often used them in the office for noise supression, without music.
In my opinion and experience, Amazon did not improve gen2 from gen1. I'm gonna need a lot of convincing to purchase gen3 if it comes.

The good

- Super cheap on sale for what you get. The finishing on the case is a bit cheap, but the earbuds themselves are much nicer quality than they have any business being at that price range.
- Decent sound, ambient and ANC modes are both servicable. I never care much for ANC as I find it makes me feel strange, but the hardware itself is quite effective at blocking noise without ANC.
- Alexa built in is only really useful if you have a data plan, but she's nice to have. I don't use her much when out and about, but occasionally I'll remember she's built in and use her to check something or place a reminder. This is a good way to have her on-the-go.
- Touch controls actually work. The touch pads work much better than the over-sensitive ones on my Samsung Galaxy buds, which is shocking. I never accidentally pause anything with these.

The bad

- Long-pressing rotates between Ambient and ANC modes, but turning them back to normal sound is frustratingly complex. You have to go several clicks through the app every single time you want to set them back to default sound, even though that should be the main mode. There's currently no way to set them back to normal sound once you touch those pads and make them ambient or ANC. If you're planning on using these with anything but your phone, that's a massive drawback.
- Purchasing them puts more money in Bezos's pocket and rewards Amazon for abusing their workers, so if you're on the fence about these or Samsung then remember which staff are allowed bathroom breaks.
