3. It is a solitary existence. They roam from one league to the next like itinerant Samurai, ready to trade their skills for a thousand bucks a game and the chance at impressing a pro scout who might be willing to throw more money at them.

1. Tonight, thousands of fans will crowd into the Verdun Auditorium for the return of pro basketball to Montreal. About half the players come from here, they grew up playing street/high school ball in Mtl Nord, Parc X and now's their chance to make a few bucks...
